Nominations Open for New Jersey Society of CPAs’ New Ovation Awards

ROSELAND, N.J. — The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is accepting nominations for its new Ovation Awards, which include seven categories: Emerging Leaders; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Innovation; Exceptional Educators; Women to Watch; Impact; and Lifetime Leader.

The Ovation Awards elevate NJCPA’s awards program to recognize excellence across a consistent range of categories per year instead of having only a single award category. Previous awards included the Volunteer Award, Women of Note, Diversity & Inclusion Impact Award and 30 Under 30. The new awards will have a broader scope by honoring NJCPA members with exceptional commitment to the accounting profession along with those nonmembers in the community, for example, who have had an exemplary impact on the accounting industry, who have excelled as accounting educators, or have propelled the profession forward by using new technologies.

“The Ovation Awards are a wonderful way to praise outstanding professionals who have made a significant impact on the accounting profession. Many give so much to the community on a daily basis; it’s great to recognize all that they do,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at NJCPA.

Nominations are due by Friday, May 17. Multiple entries are allowed, as are self-nominations. Winners will be announced at the NJCPA Annual Convention & Expo in Atlantic City in June. For more information and to submit a nomination, go to njcpa.org/ovation.
