Norcross Announces More than $3M to Help South Jersey Families

CHERRY HILL, NJ – U.S. Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) today announced $3,012,099 in funding to address the opioid crisis, reducing youth homelessness and implementing neighborhood outreach programs. The funding comes from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF).

“The programs funded by these grants offer support to vulnerable groups in our community – including homeless youth and children with a family member struggling with addiction,” said Congressman Norcross, Vice-Chair of the Bipartisan Addiction Task Force. “I’m hopeful that these federal resources will help change lives here in South Jersey. We will continue to work with our neighborhood partners to address the needs of all those in our community battling the disease of addiction.”

Acenda Integrated Health to receive:

• $2,612,500 as a part of their Regional Partnership Grant Program, which is aimed at increasing the well-being and safety of children who are at risk because of a parent or caregiver’s substance use disorder.

Center for Family Services to receive:

• $250,000 to their Maternity Group Homes for Pregnant and Parenting Youth (MGH) Program, which supports pregnant and parenting young people who are currently homeless, as well as their dependent children.
• $149,599 to their Street Outreach Services project which offers crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy and prevention services to teens who are facing homelessness or searching for a safe and stable home.
