Norcross to Hold DACA Roundtable Discussion, Press Conference at Rutgers University – Camden

CHERRY HILL, NJ – Tomorrow, Wednesday September 20, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) will join staff and faculty at Rutgers University – Camden for a roundtable discussion with students who fall under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Following the roundtable, University staff will discuss new efforts to support DREAMers at a press conference with Norcross.

“DACA improves the lives of young people who know no country other than America as their own,” said Congressman Donald Norcross. “It is so important to listen to people in our communities who are directly impacted by policy decisions. In the case of ending DACA in six months, the Administration’s decision is one that goes against American values and undermines the fact that America is a nation of immigrants. I look forward to standing with DREAMers as I stand up for their dreams.”

“Rutgers University – Camden supports all of its students, including those who are undocumented,” said Rutgers University – Camden Chancellor Phoebe Haddon. “Our country is strengthened by compassion and we will continue to thrive only if we can educate and retain creative thinkers from every walk of life.  Rutgers–Camden is proud to offer programs that support our students and neighbors who are undocumented immigrants.”

Reporters interested in attending the press conference are asked to please RSVP to Ally.Kehoe@mail.house.gov
