Norcross on Supreme Court Turning Down Trump DACA Appeal

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Donald Norcross (NJ-01) issued the below statement after the Supreme Court of the United States declined to clear the way for the Trump Administration to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:

“Today, the Supreme Court rightfully refused to stoop down to President Trump’s level and kick hundreds of thousands of young people out of the only country they have ever called home.

“While this is welcome news, DACA recipients will continue to face uncertainty until President Trump and Republicans stop playing games with DREAMers’ lives. It was President Trump, after all, who shamelessly made the decision to end DACA in the first place. It’s clear his ‘Art of the Deal’ is to use children’s lives as bargaining chips.

“I urge my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to swiftly allow votes on a bill that will clearly pass the House and Senate – the bipartisan DREAM Act.”
