North Ward Top Vote-Getter, Jennifer Williams, Calls for Mercer County Board of Elections & Trenton City Clerk’s Office to Confirm December 6th Run-Off

North Ward Top Vote-Getter, Jennifer Williams, Calls for Mercer County Board of Elections & Trenton City Clerk’s Office to Confirm December 6th Run-Off

Trenton, NJ – The Jennifer Williams for North Ward Council campaign is calling on the Mercer County Board of Elections and the Trenton City Clerk’s Office to confirm they will not move the December 6th run-off.

Williams’ North Ward City Council campaign has consistently received the highest number of votes since election night. Trenton and Mercer County voters still have no assurance of how long the general election counting will take to complete, or whether a run-off will be held on December 6th.

North Ward Council Candidate Jennifer Williams stated, “I am thankful to have received the most votes to become our next North Ward City Councilperson and applaud all voters who participated in democracy and voted in this past election.

“Additionally, as a former Board Worker and Master Board Worker, I know first-hand that our elections staff work hard and want to hold well-organized elections. That said, the current vote-counting process is very frustrating and is increasing the perception among some that their vote may not count. It’s also encouraging conspiracy theories about elections.

Our Mercer County Board of Elections and Trenton City Clerk’s Office must confirm and commit that we will still hold a necessary run-off election on December 6th to keep the process fair and transparent. It is only fair to voters and us candidates who worked so hard in this election. Please confirm a December 6th run-off election as soon as possible.”
