NorthStar COO Herkloz appointed Chair of Ocean ELC

(TRENTON) – Jody Herkloz, Founding Member and Chief Operating Officer of Trenton-based government & public affairs consulting firm NorthStar Strategies, LLC has been appointed Chair
of the Ocean County Employers Legislative Committee (ELC).

Herkloz succeeds former Assemblywoman and current CEO of Preferred Behavioral Health Group Mary Pat Angelini, who served as Chair for the past three years. “I am honored by this appointment and excited by this amazing opportunity to work closely with business owners from throughout Ocean County,” said Herkloz. “The ELC plays a critical role putting business owners face-to-face with key decision-makers and providing a forum to advocate for important business issues and priorities.”

Herkloz will work with business owners to shape the ELC’s policy positions and priorities. She will put Ocean County business owners face-to-face with key decision-makers at all levels of government. She will work closely with New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) leadership to amplify the voices of Ocean County businesses. She will also chair the regular meetings of the ELC.

“NJBIA is extremely pleased that Jody will serve as Chair of the Ocean County ELC,” said NJBIA Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas. “ELCs play a critically important role advocating for businesses throughout New Jersey and we look forward to Jody’s leadership and advocacy in this role.”

Herkloz’s appointment could not come at a more important time for Ocean County businesses desperate to overcome the devastating economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Herkloz will work to facilitate coordination between Ocean County businesses and the Murphy Administration on re-opening and economic recovery issues.

“This is an excellent appointment by the ELC,” said Angelini. “Jody is an accomplished professional, successful businesswoman, and savvy government affairs strategist who will help the ELC and NJBIA accomplish their joint mission to advocate for Ocean County businesses.”

ELC’s were established by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties. They closely coordinate to advocate for the interests of businesses throughout New Jersey. As Chair, Herkloz will serve as the liaison between the Ocean County ELC and NJBIA.
