O’DONNELL TEAM STATEMENT ON BAYONNE MAYORAL DEBATE

BAYONNE – Mayoral candidate Jason O’Donnell showed this evening why he is the clear choice to become the next mayor of Bayonne tonight at the only public debate scheduled between the candidates for Mayor.  The lively debate took place at the Nicholas Oresko School and featured O’Donnell, current mayor Jimmy Davis and Dr. Mitchell Brown.  O’Donnell’s running mates, Council At Large candidates Dan Ward and Melissa Rada, First Ward Council candidate Sharma Montgomery, Second Ward Council candidate Kevin Kuhl and Third Ward Council candidate Matt Klimansky released the following statement in the aftermath of the debate.

“Jason showed everyone tonight why he is clearly the best choice to be the next mayor of our city.  His knowledge of the significant problems our City faces were evident throughout tonight’s debate and he was also able to strongly articulate our team’s vision for the future.  Jason laid out the facts about the significant harm Mayor Davis’ forty multi-million dollar tax breaks for his rich developer friends will cause for Bayonne taxpayers and was clear in explaining that we will fight to make sure Bayonne jobs go to Bayonne residents.  Over these last months we have been proud to be members of the O’Donnell Team for Bayonne and tonight everyone got to see exactly why.

It also became very evident to everyone in attendance and watching at home why Mayor Davis would only agree to one public debate instead of the three we repeatedly requested.  On Tuesday, May 8th, voters will have a clear choice for Mayor, and that choice is Jason O’Donnell.”
