Old Bridge Council Candidate Mark Razzoli Endorsed By BMWED-IBT

OLD BRIDGE – 4th Ward Council candidate Mark Razzoli received the endorsement of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division-IBT.  The BMWED is a national union representing rail workers who build and maintain tracks, bridges, and other structures in the operation of the nation’s railways.  BMWED is part of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

“We are proud to endorse Mark Razzoli to represent Ward 4 on the Old Bridge Township Council.  Mark’s plan to support our public schools, address opioid abuse and invest in recreation programs for our kids is just what Old Bridge needs.  His commitment to ethical and responsive government makes us confident that he is the best person to represent Ward 4,” said Thomas Wohanka, the NJ State Legislative Director of the BMWED-IBT.

A cornerstone of Razzoli’s campaign is preventing opioid abuse, which is becoming increasingly prevalent among young residents.  Old Bridge is one of the top 45 towns in New Jersey with the most highest rate of opioid abuse, according to several media reports[1][2][3].   Razzoli will work to invest in safe and healthy recreation, education programs, and police trainings to end this problem in Old Bridge.

“BMWED workers are the ones who hold things together – literally.  They create connections.  In order to move forward – whether on the rails or in government – you need to lay the tracks and the groundwork,” said Razzoli.  “I’m grateful for their endorsement of my candidacy, but I’m also motivated and energized by their support of my priorities for Old Bridge.  No candidate or elected official can accomplish anything alone – as we’ve seen time and time again from politicians who work only for themselves, not for Old Bridge.  You need people.  You need priorities.  And you need vision and direction to build the groundwork and stay on the right track.  As 4th Ward Councilman, I’ll always be dedicated to making sure Old Bridge stays on the right track – forward – by always working for you.”
