Old York Cellars Wines Reaches Out to Socially Distant Friends and Family
The New Jersey Award-Winning Winery introduces its Message on a Bottle Charitable Labels

RINGOES, NEW JERSEY, APRIL 19, 2020 – Old York Cellars in Ringoes, New Jersey has found a unique way for people to let their isolated friends and family know that they are thinking of them. The award-winning winery has introduced new customizable labels that have slogans like, “Til We Meet Again,” “Thinking of You” and “We Miss You” to its What Exit Wines charitable brand. The winery’s Message on a Bottle customizable labels are designed to reach out to friends and family who are isolated in their homes, while supporting those in need by donating a portion of each What Exit Wine sold to the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund.

During this time of social distancing, the winery believes it is important to make sure we are still socially connected.  Old York Cellars has reached out to each of its 1,700 Vintner’s Club members and many of its other customers. The connection with members and customers has helped make this time more bearable for customers, as well as its staff.  The winery wants people to use its Message On A Bottle and other wines to share a glass virtually over the phone or a video chat, allowing distant folks to socialize, reconnect and enjoy a virtual happy hour.

The first vintage of What Exit Wines was still in barrels when Hurricane Sandy hit. The destruction wreaked by the hurricane led winery owner David Wolin to convert the What Exit Wines brand into a charitable brand. Since its launch in July of 2013, the winery has raised money for the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, Hometown Heroes, and many other New Jersey based charities. The current tragedy has led Old York Cellars to direct funds from its What Exit Wines series to help those affected by Covid-19.  Mr. Wolin selected the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund founded by New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy.

The Message On A Bottle custom label program allows consumers to add their personal touch with text and photos.  Consumers can order online at https://www.oldyorkcellars.com/Purchase/Message-On-A-Bottle-Labels, or by calling the winery at 908-284-9463.  The bottles can be shipped, delivered locally or picked up at the Winery in Ringoes, its Quaker Bridge Mall Tasting Room & Restaurant in Lawrence Township and at Kyma Greek Cuisine in Somerville.  All locations offer no contact pickup. The winery hopes to offer pickup at its other restaurant outlets in Northern and Central New Jersey

Old York Cellars’ wines are handcrafted by acclaimed winemaker Scott Gares. Scott’s wines have won numerous medals at international wine competitions.  The vineyard property boasts 28 acres of preserved farmland and beautiful acres of rolling grape vines, originally planted in 1979.
