Original Trenton Ferry Site to be Honored

Trenton N.J. – The entrance to the Trenton Makes Bridge will be given a new addition come this Friday, July 27th, at 11:30 am. The New Jersey Commission on Historic Sites had contracted the sign decades ago, but the posting was just recently repaired for use.

Butch’s Welding was tasked with refurbishing the historic sign, and Chris Pratico is the one donating the artifact to the City of Trenton.

Pictured left, the placard will be posted and displayed on Bridge Street.

The sign reads – “TRENTON FERRY: one block south was the old ferry landing where on April 21, 1789, Washington entered New Jersey on his way to New York for his first inauguration. He was received by many citizens of Trenton and the surrounding towns.”
