Paramus Democrats: Paramus Republican Council Candidates condemnation of a tax increase is a huge whiff

The Republican Council candidates condemned the tax increase in the fiscal budget this year, but what they failed to mention is the bi-partisan vote that the budget received this year and in years past.

Council President Holly Tedesco noted that “For the past two year the municipal budget committee has been made up of a majority of Republican council members who have presented the budget to the council with out providing any suggestions or concrete plans to balance and/or reduce the budget thereby preventing a tax increase.”

Councilwoman Tedesco has the experience and knowledge to work towards common sense solutions with her fellow council members without spewing politically motivated rhetoric.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic municipal budgets across the nation have been struggling to find a balance without levying tax increases.

This budget and previous budgets have been bi-partisan. The Republican candidates who do not understand, nor want to learn, how municipal government works and are trying to blame Democrats and not their fellow Republican representatives, who voted in favor of the budget. These actions show that they are not committed to telling the truth, nor are they effective in doing their due diligence.

Council President Tedesco and council candidate Josie (Francica) Giugliano are committed to putting Paramus first and telling the truth.
