Pascrell Announces $850K for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations throughout Passaic County
Award will help increase access to clean energy infrastructure
HAWTHORNE, NJ – Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today joined county leaders and local residents to celebrate his securing $850,000 in fresh federal funding to help Passaic County construct and maintain electric vehicle charging stations. A recording of the press conference is available here.
“The growth of electric cars is integral to America’s clean energy future. More Americans are utilizing them than ever before. Our celebration in Hawthorne today is evidence our government is meeting that moment,” said Congressman Pascrell, a cosponsor of the landmark Green New Deal. “Our Democratic government under President Biden has prioritized clean energy. The historic Inflation Reduction Act enacted the largest investments against climate change in U.S. history, and it is one of the proudest votes I have ever taken. In the Congress, I will continue to prioritize combatting climate change and delivering clean energy funds like this for our communities.”
In this year’s government funding process, Congressman Pascrell has secured $17,624,644 for 17 separate community projects throughout New Jersey’s Ninth District. This package included the $850,000 for Passaic County.
