Pascrell Applauds Historic Israel-Lebanon Agreement

Breakthrough diplomacy in the Middle East ends two nations maritime boundary dispute and establishes a permanent maritime boundary

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) this morning celebrated the historic maritime agreement signed by the governments of Israel and Lebanon.

“I applaud the governments of Israel and Lebanon on this historic occasion,” said Rep. Pascrell. “Their work together will promote regional integration that provides for more stability in the region and lower the likelihood of strife and violence. This took gutsy leadership from the Lapid government in Jerusalem and President Aoun in Beirut. I also thank President Biden and his team for working with the Israeli and Lebanese government to achieve this historic breakthrough. The threat from Hezbollah terrorists supported by Iran to the Israeli people, the people of Lebanon and the region too remains unacceptable. But the step these two nations have taken is a massive one on the road to eventual prosperity and peace in the Middle East.”
