Pascrell Calls for De-Escalation

PATERSON, NJ – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) reacted to the assassination of Iranian terrorist leader Qassem Soleimani in a United States air strike in Baghdad.

“Qassem Soleimani’s hands are caked in the blood of innumerable lives lost, including hundreds of Americans. Now, in an action taken without Congressional authorization, the lives of U.S. troops and civilians and the citizens of our allies are under dire direct threat of Iranian terror. I have no faith Donald Trump’s government is prepared for these consequences because I have no faith in Donald Trump.

“A corrupt, teetering presidency cannot be permitted to recklessly embroil America in unplanned conflict. We must do absolutely everything to avoid war. America must pursue a course of de-escalation now – right now – before full-blown conflict explodes.”
