Pascrell Celebrates Landmark LGBTQ+ Decision

Supreme Court Justices rule federal law bars workplace discrimination against Americans

PATERSON, NJ – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. hailed the U.S. Supreme Court’s 6-to-3 holding this morning in Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia that federal law bans workplace discrimination lodged against LGBTQ+ Americans.

“Today’s decision is another landmark for our country,” said Rep. Pascrell. “For generations, LGBTQ+ Americans have faced ugly, unfathomable discrimination in the workplace. Through this decision, our nation’s highest court is signaling that America will continue to move forward to protect our neighbors. It has been a long road to this ruling. We have a ways yet to walk to achieve complete rights and protections for all Americans. But this is a moment to celebrate and will be marked positively in the history books for years to come.”
