Pascrell Celebrates Unmatched Career of Loretta Weinberg

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today praised the lifetime of public service of New Jersey State Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-Teaneck) upon her announcement that she would retire from the legislature at the end of 2021.

“Even among the rich ranks of New Jersey’s leadership, Loretta Weinberg is sui generis: there is absolutely nobody like her,” said Rep. Pascrell. “In Teaneck and Bergen County, Loretta is more beloved than Mickey Mantle at Yankee Stadium, and for good reason. Loretta’s passion, her expertise, her dedication to the downtrodden, her unstinting commitment to the beleaguered commuters of our region have guided the conscience of our state for decades and inspired generations of public servants. It is impossible to count the number of times Loretta’s efforts have made North Jersey a better place. Her work in Trenton may be coming to a close, but I can’t wait to see her next chapter of service. Bravo, Loretta!”
