Pascrell Condemns Threats Against Congressmembers

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today condemned the growing number of threats against Republican lawmakers who are refusing to support Jim Jordan’s (R-OH-04) campaign for U.S. House Speaker.

“The growing threats against members of Congress and their families is disgusting,” said Congressman Pascrell. “These threats are a direct product of the normalization of political violence by the rightwing media, Donald Trump, and Trump’s goons including Jim Jordan himself. These threats are the natural offspring of the January 6 insurrection Trump and Jordan fomented. Today, if you do not accede to the far-right, you will be smeared with lies and you will be threatened with violence. That is where we are. It is ever more reason men like Trump and Jordan should not be within 50 miles of political power.”
