Pascrell Condemns Trump Statements On Iraq

PATERSON, NJ — Today, Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) denounced statements made by Donald Trump during his brief trip to Iraq.

“Donald Trump’s comments to our troops represent another low for our country. After being shamed into visiting our fighting men and women, he proceeded to use them as props in a contemptible political event. His claim of giving our military its first pay raise in a decade was a lie. His assertion that he raised military pay 10% was another lie. These are lies stacked on top of more lies.

“While our brave men and women defend us, Trump defiles them. Trump has never done a thing for our nation, and as the New York Times revealed again yesterday, he hid behind his father’s legs to avoid service to our country. He is bereft of honor or plain decency.”
