PATERSON, NJ – Today, U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) celebrated the recent announcement by the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) that Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, would receive the Leonardo da Vinci Award by the NIAF Board of Directors. The award recognizes Dr. Fauci’s life-saving leadership in health and science. Rep. Pascrell had recommended to NIAF leadership that Dr. Fauci was deserving of recognition.
“Dr. Fauci embodies all the qualities of leadership and service encompassed in this award. Now more than ever, I cannot think of anyone more deserving,” said Rep. Pascrell, co-chair of the Italian-American Congressional Delegation. “Our nation is facing one of the darkest crises we have ever known, but Dr. Fauci’s expertise has served as a beacon of hope for the future. Working day in and day out to save American lives, he is the very best of America. This award is the least we can do to thank this extraordinary Italian-American leader for his service to our country. God bless Anthony Fauci.”
