Pascrell Honored by Leadership Role in 116th Congress

Chosen by colleagues to Democratic Steering and Policy Committee

WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) was selected by his colleagues to serve another term on the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.

“I am humbled to be chosen by my colleagues to continue serving on the Democratic Party’s foremost leadership panel in the House of Representatives, especially as we prepare take control as the majority party,” said Rep. Pascrell. “On the Steering and Policy Committee, I will continue to stand proudly for the pillars that undergird our great party: addressing climate change, gun control laws to keep our schools and communities safe, scrupulous oversight of government corruption, affordable and reliable health care, support for the women and men of organized labor, and measures that promote economic opportunity for all. As Region IX representative, I will fight for opportunities for members from our region, including the incoming members who helped us secure a Democratic majority.”

Rep. Pascrell will serve as the Region IX (Mideast) representative on the committee, which encompasses New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Region IX has 27 House members, including eight entering their first term, and is the region with the second most members, after Southern California.
