Pascrell Lambastes Disgraceful Republican Judiciary Hearing

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today blasted the House Judiciary Committee hearing of Merrick Garland as yet another partisan spectacle by do-nothing House Republicans.

“Watching this House hearing today made me sick,” said Congressman Pascrell. “Republicans are barreling the entire nation towards a total government shutdown. In response, they abuse the Attorney General with hours of shameless lies to feed Fox News and distract from their failure. To hear the committee chairman, Mr. Jordan, lecture about law and order while simultaneously ignoring a subpoena and whitewashing the January 6 insurrection is a disgrace. The rude, ignorant behavior of the member from my state delegation was an embarrassment to every Garden Stater. Every day, House Republicans prove anew that they cannot govern America out of a paper bag and are not interested in representing the American people.”

Congressman Pascrell has been outspoken in demanding accountability for the Capitol terror riot and Republican attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. On December 11, 2020, Pascrell urged House leadership to “refuse to seat in the 117th Congress any Members-elect seeking to make Donald Trump an unelected dictator.”
