Pascrell Mourns Bobby Allen
PATERSON, NJ – Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) issued the following statement mourning the passing of NJ FMBA Legislative Chair and Paterson Firefighter Bobby Allen.
“I am heartbroken by the loss of my dear friend Bobby Allen, a dedicated firefighter, passionate advocate, and a true hero,” said Congressman Pascrell. “Bobby’s unwavering commitment to his community and his fellow firefighters exemplified the very best of public service. As the Legislative Chair of the NJ FMBA and a proud member of the Paterson Fire Department, Bobby played an integral role in shaping legislation that not only supported our firefighters but also improved their working conditions and ensured they had the resources necessary to protect our communities. Bobby’s legacy is embodied not only in his courageous actions as a 9/11 first responder but also in his tireless efforts to advocate for pro-firefighter legislation like the FIRE Act. His dedication and advocacy have undoubtedly saved lives and made a lasting impact on the firefighting community in New Jersey and beyond. His loss is a tragedy, and it has only strengthened my resolve to renew my national firefighter cancer registry and reform the public safety officer benefits program for families like Bobby’s. My thoughts and prayers are with Bobby’s wife Marianne, his family, friends, and loved ones. May his memory be a source of strength and motivation to continue Bobby’s fight for the well-being of our firefighters.”
