Pascrell Mourns Former Assemblyman Louis Gill

PATERSON, NJ – U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) today issued a statement on the passing of former Passaic Assemblyman Louis Gill.

“I am mourning my friend Louis Gill today,” said Rep. Pascrell. “Louis’s record of service is unmatched. Louis was a teacher, a city councilor, a state legislator, an activist, a grocer, and a son of Poland and a Pulski Day Grand Marshall. His entire life was dedicated to his community, to Passaic.

“I really got to know Louis when we were together in the Assembly. When they talk about salt-of-the-earth, they’re talking about Louis. He was the real deal, old school, and irreplaceable. Today I join Mary, their children, grandchildren, and the Polish community and a stricken Passaic in mourning Louis, but also in celebrating a life of helping others and helping his communities. I’m going to miss my friend.”
