Pascrell Mourns Lauren Murphy

PATERSON, NJ – Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) issued the following statement mourning the passing of Lauren Murphy.

“Lauren Murphy loved Clifton and Passaic County and dedicated her life to making our community better. She helped countless local residents get a leg up at the Board of Social Services and as Director of the One Stop Career Center. Her sense of civic charity to her neighbors in need was bottomless. Smart, aggressive, and caring, Lauren was a loyal and valued friend to me and so many others. In her role as municipal Democratic leader, she helped deliver victory for Passaic County Democratic candidates year in and year out. I can’t imagine running in an election without her support and counsel. And when Lauren herself ran and won for city council I was especially impressed by her sense of purpose and commitment in that position. My prayers are with Lauren, her family, friends, and loved ones, and I join the City of Clifton in mourning her loss.”
