PASSAIC COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PAT LEPORE AND TERRY DUFFY AND SHERIFF RICHARD BERDNIK OFFICIALLY SWORN-IN FOR ANOTHER TERM

 

(Passaic County, New Jersey) – On January 4, 2023, the newly re-elected Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik and County Commissioners Terry Duffy and Pat Lepore were sworn into office to serve another three-year term. County Commissioner Pat Lepore was appointed as the County Commissioner Director and County Commissioner John Bartlett was appointed as the Deputy County Commissioner Director.

On the same day, Passaic County’s new County Administrator, Matthew P. Jordan, Esq. was sworn into office, along with Nadege Allwaters, Esq. to serve as County Counsel.

“I am humbled to have been entrusted by the residents of our great county to represent them for another term. I’m also grateful to my colleagues on the Commissioner Board for appointing me as the Commissioner Director for this year,” stated County Commissioner Director Pat Lepore. “During my tenure on the board, my fellow Commissioners and I have focused on improving and expanding the services available for our residents and their diverse needs, maintaining conservative budgeting practices with our taxpayers in mind, and have continuously maintained our commitment in improving the quality of life here in Passaic County. I look forward to continuing that work.”

In attendance were First Lady Tammy Murphy, Passaic County Democratic Committee Chairman John Currie, former NJ Governor and current NJ Senator Richard J. Codey, Assemblyman Gary Schaer, Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly, Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, Woodland Park Mayor Keith Kazmark, Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh, Prospect Park Mayor Mohamed Khairullah, Haledon Mayor Mike Johnson, former Passaic County Administrator Anthony DeNova, Passaic County Clerk Danielle Ireland-Imhof, Passaic County Surrogate Zoila Cassanova, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes, retired Superior Court Judge Raymond Reddin, chiefs and undersheriffs from the Passaic County Sheriffs office, among other officials and dignitaries.

“I appreciate the opportunity to continue keeping our county safe,” said Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik. “I have spent my entire career making public safety my first priority. As your Sheriff, I will continue to be cost conscious in regards to future county budgets, and I will always put the residents of Passaic County first.”

“I’m honored to have been elected seven consecutive times. As Passaic County Commissioners, we have made great strides to make our County a great place to work, live, and visit. I, along with my colleagues, will continue to stay the path and maintain Passaic County’s rich history and bright future,” stated Passaic County Commissioner Terry Duffy.

Passaic County is governed by a seven-member Board of County Commissioners. Each Commissioner is elected at large for a three-year term. The Board consists of six standing committees in which Passaic County operates through: Administration & Finance; Health & Human Services; Public Works; Law & Public Safety; Planning & Economic Development; and Budget.
