PASSAIC COUNTY PREAKNESS HEALTHCARE CENTER CELEBRATES 90^TH ANNIVERSARY

(Paterson, NJ) – On December 9^th, 2019, the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented Passaic County Preakness Healthcare Center with a proclamation in recognition and celebration of their 90^th anniversary. In attendance were various elected and appointed officials, including current and former Passaic County freeholders, Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh, and a representative for Senator Mikie Sherrill, who also presented Preakness Healthcare Center with a proclamation in recognition of their ninety years of service to residents.

“Passaic County’s Freeholders are so proud to recognize the outstanding service Preakness Healthcare Center has been providing for the past ninety years,” stated Freeholder Director John Bartlett.

“Residents of Preakness Healthcare Center, their families and guests have continually commended the care provided here,” Bartlett continued. “When you step in the door, it feels like home and family, and I cannot offer enough praise for our staff, physicians, the Resident Council, Preakness Auxiliary members, Pastoral Care team and volunteers. They do so much to provide the best possible quality of life for Preakness Healthcare Center residents regardless of their needs.”

The Preakness Healthcare Center, formerly known as Preakness Hospital, began its mission to care of the elderly, chronically ill and disabled in 1961, with the merging of Valley View and Hope Dell. In 2009, the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders built a new facility for Preakness Healthcare Center, replacing the old one. The new facility expanded to house 406 residents. It continues to provide long term skilled nursing care, sub-acute care, behavioral care, respiratory, respite and hospice care, to ensure the upmost care for its residents.
