PASSAIC COUNTY SMALL BUSINESS LEASE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM

The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders launch another initiative to help businesses.

 

(Passaic County, New Jersey) – Today, the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced that they will be launching the Passaic County/NJRA Small Business Lease Emergency Assistance Grant Program. The grant program will assist suffering businesses with lease payments to help alleviate the impacts of COVID-19.

“My colleagues on the Freeholder Board and I are committed to providing assistance to our county, which includes our business owners, many of whom are trying to build back up to normalcy with the ongoing aftermath of COVID-19,” stated Freeholder Director Sandi Lazzara. “Our local businesses are an integral part of our county. Providing rental assistance will lighten the burden on our businesses and help them stay afloat.”

Businesses who have a physical location within the 16 municipalities of Passaic County can receive up to $20,000 for rental assistance through the Passaic County Small Business Lease Emergency Assistance Grant Program. Under the grant program, businesses can get assistance for lease payments from September to December.

 

“As a small busines owner, these grants are vital for supporting our business community during this difficult time. This will be our second program to specifically assist businesses throughout the county. We will be partnering with the NJRA for this second grant program. The NJRA will administer the grant funding and ensure that our county businesses are provided every opportunity to participate,” stated Freeholder Terry Duffy.

“The New Jersey Redevelopment Authority is proud to continue our commitment to supporting small businesses as they fight to weather the economic fallout brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Small businesses are crucial to helping our state recover, and this latest round of funding will help to ensure that we leave no small business behind,” explained Leslie A. Anderson, President and CEO of the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority. “Impact has always been our primary objective, and this program has the added value of ensuring the stability of neighborhoods by providing funding to keep small businesses in their storefronts or other commercial spaces. Additionally, this collaborative effort with the Counties will help to expedite the distribution of the grants, and I am enormously grateful for the leadership in Essex, Ocean, and Passaic Counties.”
