Passaic Valley Water Commission Hires Communications Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Clifton, N.J. – February 27, 2023) On Wednesday, February 22, Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) welcomed its first African American female director, Ms. Lendel Jones, to the position of Director of Communications and Intergovernmental Coordination.

“Ms. Jones comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience,” said Executive Director Jim Mueller. Jones was working at PVWC as a media and community relations contractor before being offered the position as director.

“I went to one of Mr. Mueller’s department head meetings and I was impressed with the changes he is making in the company,” said Jones.  “After the meeting I told him I would be interested in the position as Director of Communications to help him establish the department and implement those changes. I knew my background in corporate communications and governmental affairs at New Jersey American Water and its corporate office, American Water as well as my experience at PEPCO Holdings as regional communications/media relations director would be a good fit for PVWC,” Jones added.

The Communications and Intergovernmental Coordination Department was one of the key pieces to rounding out PVWC as a formidable water company.  According to Jones, she intends to be honest and forthright with the media while telling the PVWC story to educate customers about all the things the company is doing to provide clean, high quality drinking water.
