Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh Statement on Minnesota Governor Walz as Pick for Vice President

PATERSON, NJ – Mayor Andre Sayegh issued the following statement:

“Vice President Kamala Harris made a wise choice in selecting Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. As a veteran, retired school teacher, and football coach, Governor Walz has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and a deep commitment to public service.

“Governor Walz has built a reputation for effective policymaking, leading Minnesota to significant advancements. Under his leadership, the state has expanded access to education with a financial aid program offering free college tuition to students from families earning less than $80K a year. Additionally, he has advanced health equity by enacting paid family and medical leave, providing workers with up to 20 weeks off. His dedication to education, healthcare, and economic equity  aligns seamlessly with the values of the people of Paterson and our nation.
