PBA LOCAL 105 ENDORSES PHIL MURPHY FOR GOVERNOR
(Woodbridge, NJ) – PBA Local 105 President Brian Renshaw and his executive committee unanimously endorsed Phil Murphy for Governor this evening at an event following the local’s scheduled board meeting. The endorsement was held at Ariana’s Grand in Woodbridge, which is less than two miles from East Jersey State Prison.
PBA Local 105 represents over 6,500 active state corrections, juvenile justice and parole officers in the state and over 12,000 retirees. As the largest law enforcement union in the state, PBA Local 105 specifically represents law enforcement officers charged with maintaining the state’s incarcerated and paroled populations.
PBA 105 President Brian Renshaw stated, “We are endorsing Phil Murphy for Governor because our Local knows his vision for New Jersey will benefit working class residents. Ambassador Murphy is not beholden to the political establishment, and he will set an agenda that reflects our values. We look forward to working with our next Governor on his ambitious agenda to restore jobs, services and a fully-funded pension system.”
“This campaign is about bringing strong, progressive leadership to rebuild New Jersey’s struggling middle class with an economy that works for all of us.” said Murphy. “Members of PBA Local 105 deserve fair wages and workplace protections in return for their service and sacrifice to New Jersey. I am grateful to members of Local 105 for their service. My campaign is happy to stand side-by-side in this fight for a fair and just New Jersey.”
PBA Local 105 unanimously supported Phil Murphy through a fair, transparent, democratic process and substantive vetting by the local’s executive leadership.
The event was attended by State PBA President Pat Colligan, members of PBA Local 105 and fellow law enforcement officers from throughout the state.
