Pennacchio Urges NJ Department of Health to Study if Chloroquine Can Be Made Available More Widely as Possible Treatment for COVID-19

Senator Joe Pennacchio (R-26) sent a letter to New Jersey Department of Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli on Tuesday calling for the department to study and fast-track a decision on the possibility of making Chloroquine more widely available as both a prophylactic and therapeutic agent in the fight against COVID-19.

Some doctors and initial testing in other nations have indicated that Chloroquine, an anti-malarial drug that has been safely used for more than 75 years, may be an effective treatment for COVID-19.
