PEOPLE, JR. AND CAVADAS RECEIVE ANOTHER HUGE ENDORSEMENT OF RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

FOR UNION TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE

UNION – Clifton People, Jr. and Suzette Cavadas today continued to build on their tremendous momentum in their campaign for Union Township Committee with the announcement that the candidates have received the endorsement of CWA Local 1037.  CWA Local 1037 President Ken McNamara released the following statement announcing the endorsement:

“It was a very easy decision for us to endorse Clifton People, Jr. and Suzette Cavadas for re-election because they share our progressive values,” said McNamara.  “Clifton and Suzette believe in collective bargaining and they believe in the importance of the organized labor movement.  This election is about their values and beliefs as well as those of their opponents and our members will be energized in working towards their re-election.”

People, Jr. and Cavadas expressed their gratitude to McNamara and the membership of CWA Local 1037 for the endorsement:

“We are proud to stand with the working men and women of CWA Local 1037.  The labor movement has stood tall in the face of countless attacks and divisive rhetoric from right-wing Republicans like Chris Christie and Donald Trump and it is critically important that we continue to fight for a fair wage and a safe work environment for every man and every woman.

Unfortunately, our opponents do not share those same Democratic values, as evidenced by their support for then Governor Christie and continued employment at a place that provides significant financial support to help achieve President Trump’s Conservative agenda. Primary Day, June 4th, is an important day for Democratic voters to come out and make a stand against Republicans in our Democratic Primary and we are grateful to have the support of a strong progressive organization like the CWA Local 1037 in that effort.”
