Pezzullo Embraces Challenge after Menendez Charges Dropped

US Senate Candidate Rich Pezzullo surprised supporters this afternoon after learning that the Justice Department had dropped their case against Senator Bob Menendez.

“This is good,” Pezzullo said.

Shocked supporters questioned Pezzullo, who is seeking the Republican nomination to challenge Menendez.

“The people were denied justice in the courtroom,” Pezzullo explained, “Now the people of New Jersey get to assert themselves and throw him out of office.” Echoing party Chairman Doug Steinhardt, he called for an overwhelming defeat of Menendez at the polls.

“The unseemly facts of this case have never been in dispute nor is the fact that his actions were absolutely immoral. We have a responsibility to demonstrate that we expect more out of our politicians.”

He continued, “The Justice Department has given Senator Menendez more time to obstruct the President.”

“I’m confident that as New Jersey voters see how much good is happening for the rest of the country, and how much we’re missing because Menendez won’t work with President Trump, they’re going to get more and more outraged.”

“Career politicians like Bob Menendez just don’t get it: when you do a bad job, you get fired. So what if ‘no reasonable prosecutor will take this case’.  He’s guilty of something much worse: failure to represent the people of New Jersey.”

“He’s still a guy who needs firing.  Today’s dismissal doesn’t change anything.”
