PHILLIPSBURG TOWN COUNCIL WELCOMES HOME ANOTHER MARINE

(Phillipsburg, NJ) In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 13, 2019 the Phillipsburg Town
Council welcomed home newly graduated Marine, Private First Class, Liam Patrick Martin in the
presence of his family and friends. Liam graduated from Boot Camp in Parris Island, South
Carolina on Friday, April 12, 2019. Liam held the position of Guidon for his Platoon 2029. Private
First Class Martin is home for two weeks before returning to the Marine Corps Police Academy
where he will train to be a United States Marine Corps Law Enforcement Officer.

Private First Class Martin was provided a proclamation from his hometown’s governing body,
read by Council President Bobby Fulper.

“One of the most rewarding experiences of elected office is possessing the opportunity to
honor and welcome home the members of our community upon their completion of Basic
Training,” Said Council President Fulper. “These men and women have grown up in the Town of
Phillipsburg and will move on to represent our town in a deserving fashion while protecting the
freedoms of citizens across this great Country. We, as a unified governing body, could not be
more proud of our sons and daughters in the Armed Forces like Private First Class Martin.”
When asked about his aspirations upon completing his four years of enlistment, Private First
Class Martin stated he aspired to one-day join the New Jersey State Police.
