Pintor Marin Statement on the Passing of Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green

‘The Assembly has Lost a Giant’

(TRENTON) – Assembly Budget Committee Chair Eliana Pintor Marin (D-Essex) released the following statement Thursday on the passing of Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore Jerry Green:

“I am terribly saddened by the news of Jerry’s passing.

“He was a great colleague and friend, and to those he represented, a committed public servant.”

“He served the Assembly for 26 years and was a tremendous asset during his tenure.

“He was dedicated to the people of New Jersey, and served in many different capacities, but his work as chair of the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee really stands out. He believed people had a right to affordable and adequate housing, and worked tirelessly towards that end.

“We have lost a giant in New Jersey politics.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
