Planned Parenthood Action Fund of NJ To Host Pre-Debate Rally
Phil Murphy is the only gubernatorial candidate committed to women’s reproductive health and rights
Tuesday October 10 at 5:30 p.m.
NEWARK, NJ — This Tuesday will be the first debate between Phil Murphy and Kim Guadagno in the 2017 gubernatorial election. Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey (PPAFNJ) will hold a pre-debate honk-and-wave in front of NJPAC in Newark, the location of the debate, to show support for Murphy. Supporters will underscore the difference between women’s rights and health supporter Murphy and his opponent Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno.
During the debate, grassroots supporters of women’s reproductive health and rights will hold debate watch parties at homes across the state, which are being organized by volunteers in coordination with PPAFNJ to support Phil Murphy, the only candidate who unequivocally supports women’s reproductive rights.

Murphy is running on the pledge to be a strong leader for reproductive rights and access to birth control, ensuring that women’s health services remain available to New Jersey women with no out-of-pocket costs. Lt. Gov. Guadagno is on record opposing funding for Planned Parenthood and other family planning providers. While Guadagno claims to be “pro-choice,” she wants to withhold funds from Planned Parenthood because the organization provides safe and legal abortions.
Tuesday’s debate watch party is the first of three. Women’s reproductive health supporters will also gather at debate watch parties on October 16th and 18th.
