Planned Parenthood health centers are open and care is made more affordable

Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey continues to provide reproductive health care amidst coronavirus

TRENTON, NJ — Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey (PPNCSNJ) announced that as of April 16, 2020, its health centers remain open and staff are continuing to see patients in sixteen locations across the state. In addition to precautions being taken to minimize the spread of COVID-19 to patients and staff, PPNCSNJ is also offering affordable service options to ensure that patients can continue to access the essential care they need during this difficult time when many New Jerseyans are facing financial uncertainty.

“It is critical that everyone – women, men, teens, and all New Jerseyans – are able to access the essential reproductive health care services they need, including birth control and abortion care,” said Triste Brooks, president and CEO of PPNCSNJ. “As always, the health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority, and we remain committed to providing trusted, affordable reproductive health care and sexual health information to our patients and communities — no matter what.”

To help offset the financial burdens many are facing and make care even more affordable, PPNCSNJ is highlighting the following service options:

  • Copay Relief: For individuals with private health insurance coverage, PPNCSNJ is waiving any copays associated with the cost of a visit for all services, including annual exams, visits for sexual health issues like yeast infections or urinary tract infections, and abortion care.
  • Pills Now Pay Later: Birth control costs have been cut in half, thanks to our Pills Now Pay Later program. With Pills Now Pay Later, patients can receive a year’s worth of birth control in a single trip to a health center, and pay in monthly installments. The cost to enroll in this program has been discounted by 50 percent – patients can now get a full year of birth control for just $12.50 a month.
  • Free STD Testing: PPNCSNJ continues to offer free testing and treatment at all health centers for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis. From April 2018 through March 2020, PPNCSNJ health centers conducted approximately 239,000 STD tests.

Patients can call 1-800-230-PLAN to make an appointment or to speak to a clinician. Please note, PPNCSNJ is not a coronavirus testing site. To help flatten the curve, PPNCSNJ is asking individuals experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 to please call before coming to a health center. We will work with you directly to get you the care you need. Online appointment scheduling is also available for Englewood, Flemington, New Brunswick, Morristown, and Shrewsbury health centers.
