Polistina, Guardian and Swift announce their initial legislative staff as they embark on providing the best constituent services in Atlantic County history

Senator Vince Polistina, Assemblyman Don Guardian, and Assemblywoman Claire Swift (R-Atlantic) are pleased to announce their first legislative office is fully operational and staffed to assist the residents of Atlantic County.

The office will be led by Joe Berg, who previously served as the President and State Delegate of Cape May County PBA Local 401. More recently, Joe worked on the re-election campaign for Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R-2) and managed the successful campaign for the Polistina, Guardian, Swift team in 2021.

Brett Barbin will serve as a Deputy Chief of Staff working closely with Assemblyman Don Guardian. Brett has gained significant experience with constituent services having worked in the Senator’s office since November after working as the Deputy Campaign Manager for the team’s campaign in 2021.

Nick Poche will serve as a Deputy Chief of Staff working closely with Assemblywoman Claire Swift. Prior to joining the Legislative District Two team, Nick was the South Jersey Regional Political Director for Jack Ciattarelli’s gubernatorial campaign.

Denise Gonzalez will serve as a Constituent Services Liaison for the office. Denise is a Marine Corps Veteran, member of the International Brotherhood of Election Workers Local 351, and mother of two. She is also fluent in Spanish, which will allow the office to better service Spanish-speaking residents.

Mike Donnelly will serve as an additional Constituent Services Liaison. Mike is a 2019 graduate of Rowan University and previously worked on the re-election campaign for Congressman Jeff Van Drew and for the Pennsylvania Senate Republican Policy Research and Development Office.

The legislators are also working hard to fulfill their campaign pledge to open a legislative office in Atlantic City and hope to have an announcement on that office within the next couple of weeks. They have also started interviewing potential employees who speak many languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, and Bengali who will assist staff in the Atlantic City office overcome language barriers.

“We’ve built a legislative staff that not only has an intimate knowledge of Atlantic County and its needs but has a broad understanding of issues across South Jersey,” Polistina said. “Together, I’m confident that not only will we be able to deliver timely services to our constituents in Legislative District 2, but also build coalitions amongst everyone to pass legislation that helps the people of Atlantic County & South Jersey.”
