POLL: Andy Kim in Statistical Dead Heat with MacArthur
POLL: Andy Kim in Statistical Dead Heat with MacArthur
84% of voters concerned after MacArthur revived, voted for health care plan
MARLTON, NJ – Andy Kim’s campaign received another boost Thursday morning after a national poll of competitive Congressional districts showed national security official Andy Kim trailing Congressman Tom MacArthur by just one percentage point, a statistical dead heat. The poll was conducted by Patriot Majority USA and first reported by Morning Score. A year ago this week, Tom MacArthur wrote the MacArthur Amendment which revived the ACA repeal bill last spring. The bill would have gutted pre-existing conditions protections for 23 million Americans, affecting 300,000 of MacArthur’s own constituents alone.
“During the one year anniversary of Tom MacArthur taking tens of thousands of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry and crafting the health care repeal bill that would’ve raised premiums, taxed older Americans, and gutted protections for pre-existing conditions, I’m proud to see our campaign surging,” Andy Kim said in a statement. “This campaign is being driven by grassroots supporters fed up with MacArthur putting his donors and special interests before people. Throughout my career serving in war zones and the Situation Room, I served under both Republicans and Democrats focused on finding solutions to the problems facing our nation. That’s the kind of leadership I believe we need in Congress.”
