PPAG’S SAM WEINSTEIN APPOINTED TO BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS DEI STEERING COMMITTEE
Sam Weinstein, a political strategist with Princeton Public Affairs Group (PPAG), has been appointed to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey’s (BBBSCNNJ) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Steering Committee, a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to making intentional steps toward a more inclusive agency and community.
Mr. Weinstein has been a Big Brother since late 2022 and is currently mentoring a 10-year-old from Somerset, New Jersey. They’re often found hiking in the woods and are planning some freshwater fishing trips in search of the ‘big one’ this summer. “It’s humbling to think that just having a caring adult in a child’s life can have such a huge impact,” said Weinstein. “I’m excited to work with the DEI Steering Committee to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
Dale Florio, PPAG’s Managing Partner stated, “Sam is a young man who loves to give back. We’re proud of his appointment to the BBBSCNNJ DEI Steering Committee and his decision to make a difference in the lives of underserved young people.”
Led by chair Monmouth University Professor Dr. Vernon Smith, the committee is focused on three main objectives: Recruitment of volunteers, staff, board members, and interns that reflect the diverse community the agency serves, ongoing DEI training and education for all levels of the organization, and programmatic initiatives that focus on youth empowerment.
BBBSCNNJ is collaborating with various local organizations on their DEI initiative as well as collaborating with their national organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
