A press conference to announce a march to be held on the anniversary of the assassination of Dr Martin Luther King Jr will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, 12 noon, at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 149 Springfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey.

Speakers at the press conference will include representatives from community, religious, labor, student, civil and human rights groups.

Rev David Jefferson Sr, Esq, the Pastor of Metropolitan Baptist Church is expected to attend.

The MILLION PEOPLE’S MARCH FOR VOTING RIGHTS, EQUALITY, DEMOCRACY, AND PEACE will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022, 5:00pm, starting at the Lincoln Statue, 12 Springfield Avenue in Newark, NJ. 

The march is sponsored by People’s Organization For Progress and has been endorsed by 103 organizations.

April 4th is the anniversary of the assassination of Dr Martin Luther King.

“In the spirit of Dr King we are marching for the protection and expansion of voting rights, racial and social equality, economic justice, the preservation and strengthening of democracy, and for peace at home and abroad,” stated Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress.
