Problem Solvers Caucus Co-Chairs Encouraged by CBO Score on Alexander-Murray
WASHINGTON – After the CBO estimated that enacting the Alexander-Murray bipartisan health care bill would reduce the deficit by $3.8 billion without substantially changing the number of people with health insurance coverage, Problem Solvers Co-Chairs Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) released the following joint statement:
“It is great to see today’s CBO report on the Alexander-Murray proposal showing a reduction to the deficit. It’s a great step similar to the Problem Solvers Caucus framework. Not only will more people have lower premiums, more choice, and lower costs, but the taxpayers will save money. As Co-Chairs of the Problem Solvers Caucus, our proposal provides even more for the American people and mom-and-pop businesses, and we are eager to work with the House and Senate to get it passed.”
