Project Ready and Metropolitan Baptist Church Partner to Register Voters

In advance of the upcoming November elections, Newark-based nonprofit Project Ready and Metropolitan Baptist Church have established a formal partnership to register voters.

“We strive to create a world where no community member is left voiceless, and the first step to expressing our voice through our vote is to make sure everyone is registered,” said Project Ready CEO Shennell McCloud. “We are excited about this partnership because it’s great to see the faith-based community rally around and promote the importance of civic engagement.”

Project Ready team members will be on-site at Metropolitan Baptist Church to register voters every Sunday. In addition, Project Ready will attend other church programming and community events to conduct voter registration activities.

“We share a commitment to empowering our community members through civic education and access to the voting process,” said Dr. David Jefferson Jr, Youth and Young Adult Pastor at Metropolitan Baptist Church. “We’re looking forward to a fruitful collaboration that will empower our community members and strengthen their voices.”
