Mayor Mohamed Khairullah

March 19, 2020

Dear Prospect Park Community,

I regret to inform you that we have received confirmation from Passaic County Health Officials and the Prospect Park Board of Health of the first presumptive positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) test of a Prospect Park resident. The individual is a 21-year old female with no school aged children.

Due to Federal HIPAA regulations, no personal information about the patient can be released. Although the individual has tested positive, she is not showing any symptoms and therefore, is currently quarantined at home while being actively monitored by health-care professionals.

We ask that you remain vigilant in following the recommendations of Public Health Officials and Healthcare Professionals when it comes to social distancing, practicing proper personal hygiene, and disinfecting common areas.

Should you exhibit any symptoms of illness, consult your personal doctor to discuss treatment prior to making any visits.

We encourage all residents and businesses to sign up for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System online and download the CodeRED Mobile Alert App in your Apple and Google Play Stores to receive FREE alerts and regular updates and up-to-date information on emergencies and everyday happenings occurring in our Borough community.

The Borough of Prospect Park is constantly assessing the impacts of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in conjunction with Passaic County and the State of New Jersey partners and we will continue to provide accurate updates to the public accordingly.

We are in this together so please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the governing body.

Regards,

Mohamed T. Khairullah
Mayor
