October 12, 2018- The Puerto Rican Congress of New Jersey invites the media to its Annual Convention to be held on October 19 and 20, 2018, at Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, 1000 Spring St., Elizabeth, NJ 07201 where the presence of around 300 Puerto Rican leaders interested in overcoming the serious problems that to afflict both thousands of habitants in Puerto Rico and those residing in the United States.

Among the agendas of the conference are; health, education, housing, workforce development, analysis of the situation of Puerto Rico and the migration of Puerto Ricans to the United States due to the devastating hurricane Maria, estimated at about 200 thousand people so far this year.

At the opening of October 19, there will be a reception for the elected leaders of the “Garden State” and on Saturday 20 will be analyzed the working papers on the central themes.

On Saturday Senatorial Candidates Bob Hugin and Robert (Bob) Melendez will be attending (Agenda included)

The Puerto Rican Congress of New Jersey is deeply concerned about the vigorous growth of Puerto Ricans / Hispanics and their youthful composition along with the continuing socioeconomic disadvantages are cause for alarm for state and national leaders. Puerto Ricans face disparities with other Americans in areas as important as health care, education, work, social services, child care and economic development, according to Congress.
