Questions Arise About Piscataway’s Dem Chair Ted Light’s Voter Registration & Eligibility

The Freeholder fight unites more than it delights.

The following letter was sent to Middlesex County election officials raising questions about whether Ted Light, former Piscataway Mayor and current Municipal Democratic Organization Chair, can claim his residency in Toms River and still vote in Piscataway.

RE: Theodore “ Ted” Light, Voter Registration Accuracy

Dear Ms. Flynn,

I am certain you will agree that election integrity is absolutely essential in preserving the democratic process. Voting under a fraudulent voter registration where the voter claims a primary residence in a specific jurisdiction while their actual primary residence is in a different jurisdiction is of grave concern.

I am writing to ask that you investigate the voter registration of Mr. Theodore “Ted” Light, who is registered and casting ballots from the Piscataway, Middlesex County, NJ but has listed his primary residence in multiple campaign disclosure forms, as 3400 Jefferson Avenue, Toms River, NJ.
Please see the following links for a list of contributions made by Mr. Light in which he voluntarily listed his Toms River address, as recently as 2019, as well as links to the ELEC records themselves. I am also providing links to the publicly available information regarding the purchase of the property at 3400 Jefferson Avenue. These are all publicly available documents that you can verify; of course, there may be other documents available as well.

Despite providing an address outside of Middlesex County in multiple documents, Mr. Light is registered to vote at 21 Winans Ave., Piscataway and voted from that address last year. He remains on the voter file in Middlesex County. Kindly let me know what your investigation will entail, beyond simply asking Mr. Light.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you prior to the July 7 primary.
Respectfully,
Doreen Wilson-Bailey
