Quijano Statement on Lack of Answers from Federal Agencies Regarding Recent Drone Activity
(TRENTON) — Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D-Union) issued the following statement to her constituents:
“Despite inquiries from legislators and residents alike regarding recent reports of drones flying over parts of New Jersey, information from federal agencies has been limited and unsatisfactory.
“For weeks, my colleagues and I have asked critical questions about these drone sightings – who is operating them, what are their intentions, and how can we protect our communities? I find the lack of answers from the federal government both frustrating and concerning.
“To date, there have been no confirmed arrests, no identification of operators, and no comprehensive explanation for these sightings. This is simply unacceptable. It is time for these federal agencies to step up and take this issue seriously.
“These drone incidents expose a troubling gap in our security preparedness, and as the former chair of the Assembly Homeland Security and State Preparedness Committee, I find it unacceptable that state leaders and our communities are being left in the dark.
“We need answers, we need accountability, and most importantly, we need solutions.
“New Jersey residents deserve to feel safe in their communities, and it is imperative that federal agencies step up to address these vulnerabilities before it is too late.”
