Rahway Democrats Vice Chair Parson To Seek Ward 3 Council Nomination

Deloris Parson, Vice Chair of the Rahway Democrats, announced today that she will seek the nomination for Third Ward Council member.  Ms. Parson, a Senior Lead in Customer Service, has been Vice Chair of the Rahway Democrats for six years.

Ms. Parson explained that she was running in order to serve the residents of Rahway’s Third Ward and hoped that her fellow Democrats would support her in the Primary Election on June 2, 2020.

“I respectfully request that the Democrats of the Third Ward consider me as their nominee for Third Ward Council.  You can be assured that I will work hard to gain their confidence.  I look forward to meeting all Third Ward Democrats as I go door to door in the coming months to talk about the important issues that affect my neighbors and friends.”

Ms. Parson went on to say, “This is a crucial time for the Third Ward, for Rahway and for the United States.  The divisiveness and hatred emanating from the White House must be replaced by unity, respect for all and following the Golden Rule.  My campaign will be one that addresses the issues that concern us and will be one that unifies our diverse, hard working middle class families that are the backbone of this community.

Ms. Parson has been an active member of the Rahway community for years and has been involved in a number of activities, including volunteering in the public schools, the Junior ROTC, Marching Band, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and as Commissioner on the Rahway Redevelopment Agency.

Mayor Raymond Giacobbe, Jr. praised Ms. Parson as “a common sense Democrat who will work hard for Rahway’s working families.  Her professional and civic backgrounds speak volumes about her commitment to our City and her dedication to keeping Rahway a proud, unified community.”

Kevin O’Brien, Chair of the Rahway Democrats stated that “Ms. Parson is an outstanding choice for Third Ward Council Member.  Her dedication to the Democratic beliefs that cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls.  I support Ms. Parson wholeheartedly and look forward to working closely with her throughout this campaign as she discusses the issues of today with her fellow citizens.”

Ms. Parson offered the following comments:
