Rahway Third Ward Council Member Bob Bresnehan Not Running For Reelection
Rahway Councilman Robert Bresenhan announced that he will not be seeking reelection to the Third Ward Council after serving Rahway for 8 years. Councilman Bresenhan stated that he needs to focus more fully on the increasing demands of his professional career. “It has been a true honor to serve the citizens of Rahway as Councilman. I am proud of all that I have been able to contribute to the success of Rahway’s redevelopment efforts as an emerging arts community,” said Councilman Bresenhan who during his tenure served on the Board of Trustees for the Union County Performing Arts Center as well as a member of the Union County Motion Picture and Advisory Board, among other roles with city advisory boards and committees. The Councilman will remain active in the Rahway community and looks forward to continuing to work for the betterment of our City.
Mayor Raymond Giacobbe expressed his deep gratitude to Councilman Bresenhan for his years of service to the City, calling him “a great example of civic minded leadership” and expressed his pleasure that Councilman Bresenhan would remain active in the community and “continue to work on behalf of the citizens of Rahway.”
Chairman Kevin O’Brien of the Rahway Democrats thanked Councilman Bresenhan for his years of dedication to the Democratic Party and praised the Councilman for his years of service to the citizens of Rahway. “Councilman Bresenhan is a fine example of what the Democratic Party seeks in our elected officials – dedication to the highest ideals of democracy and citizen involvement. We will miss Bob’s wise counsel and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
