A RALLY IN ENGLEWOOD TO STOP THE ABORTION BANS

PART OF A NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION

(ENGLEWOOD, MAY 21) A national day of action has been called for Tuesday May 21st to stand up and speak out against the numerous bills under consideration and being passed that would overturn Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to control her body. In our area, Indivisible Englewood NJ is hosting a rally from 12:00PM – 1:00PM at the Englewood Monument at 106 West Palisade Ave in Englewood, NJ.

Speakers will include legislators, representatives from Planned Parenthood, medical professionals, and individuals sharing their personal stories. “We can’t sit in silence while politicians take us back to a time when abortion was illegal,” said organizer Ann Sparanese. “Roe v. Wade must stand.”

In NJ, events are taking place in Englewood, Maplewood, Somerville, and Matawan.  Nationally they are being supported by the ACLU, Emily’s list, Indivisible, MoveOn, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, UltraViolet and Women’s March. Even in NJ, we are facing bills that would limit women’s rights so taking a stand is important. Here is a link for more information about the national day of action https://www.prochoiceamerica.org/2019/05/17/alabama-georgia-missouri-abortion-bans-day-of-action/
